Antonio Anania Obituary

ANANIA Antonio (Tony) Joseph Anania, born in Savelli, Italy on May 7, 1922 and a resident of Jacksonville, Florida since 1959, passed away on May 18, 2014. Tony was a loving husband, father, grand-father, great grand-father and caring friend to all who knew him. He proudly served in the Army-Air Corp during World War II. He later worked Civil Service at NAS Jacksonville, retiring after 33 years. Tony is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Maria (February 28, 2014), his sister, Felice Ricci, and his great grand-daughter, Ellie Kavalieros. He is survived by his daughters, Rosemary Arnold, Patricia Goodall, Frances Green, Susan Jamison, Janet Rodesney, and Teresa Ahmad; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and brothers, Frank Anania and Father Alexis Anania. A funeral Mass for Tony and Maria will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Friday, July 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Blvd. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Tony's name be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 4237 Salisbury Rd., Suite 310, Jacksonville, Florida 32216 or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, Florida 32257.

To the Anania girls, I only heard today of Tony's passing. I am so sorry for the great losses your family has had this year. If there is any comfort at this time, it must be that they are together again. Please know that I love and miss your family so much!
