Diane King Obituary

Diane F. King, 63, passed away after a brief and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a wonderfully dedicated and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Alton King, parents Mildred and Fred Fisher, and stepson Ross King. Diane leaves behind two sisters, Sherry Lewis and Cindy (Mike) Johnson, one brother, Dean (Pam) Fisher, two stepsons, Rick and Alton King, Jr., grandchildren Benjamin and Brianna, and two nieces, Shannon (Rick) Brinson- children Rhett and Scott and Heather Golden- children Noah, Cody, Melissa. Most of Diane's career was in the medical field, working for several different doctors and dentists. She was a kind and gentle soul that loved her Maltese dog, Millie. People where drawn to Diane because of her love, sense of humor, compassion, and spiritual blessings she lived by reading the bible daily. She had an infectious positive outlook and always gave a smile, an open heart, embracing arms, and a cheerful laugh to anyone near. Diane was loved dearly by all whom had the pleasure of knowing her. Though she will no longer be in our lives, she will be forever in our hearts. The family would like to give special thanks to the entire staff at Community Hospice of North East Florida for their compassionate guide through the most difficult time of Diane's life. A graveside service will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery on Friday, February 27th at 1:00PM with Pastor Ken Barney Officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM on Thursday, February 26, at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Community Hospice of North East Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257. just as love in life can lessen pain
it helps to soothe the pain of death
our love must come and go like rain
my heart, my tears, my word and breath

Dear family of Diane. I was shocked to hear the news. I also worked with Diane at Children' Medical Group(CMG) We were a family there as so many have already attested to. She was fun to be with and her and Dr. King made life brighter. May she rest in peace and may the Lord give you comfort in your loss.

The memories are sweet, and Diane's personality, laughter, and compassion will surly be missed by all. An angel on earth and now an angel in heaven. My deep condolences to Rick and family.

Ricky,
I will always remember the time that "the moms" took us up to VA to see the snow. Your mother was an AMAZING person. She always had a kind word to say and a cheerful disposition. My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time.
God bless,

Dear Sherry, Cindy and Dean,
My deepest condolences to all of you and to your families. Diane was the first friend I made when I moved to Jacksonville in 1968. We worked together for many years at CMG. We were very good friends and really enjoyed ourselves those many years ago, but like so many things in life, the years passed, we grew up, our lives changed and we eventually lost touch with each other, only keeping tabs through mutual friends or family. I had no idea that Diane was so ill. Her passing is a big shock to me. I have such good memories of Diane and have always thought of her as someone special who indeed touched my life. I only wish I could have seen her one last time. So, with a sadden heart, I say farewell to an old friend. God bless you Diane. Love, Patricia Burke Zipperer

Cindy, Sherry, Dean, Ricky & family-
Diane was the best. I have so many memories of her, it's hard to imagine that she's gone. I am so blessed to have known her for so many years. We've been through the good, the bad and the ugly together but our wonderful hope is that we will be reunited with Diane in heaven one day. She was a wonderful person and there is a void now in all of our lives because she is no longer here.

Cindy,
I was so sad to read of Diane's passing.
The years spent working at Childrens Medical Group with her where among the best of all of my working years!
I am sorry to have lost track of my CMG family.
You and the family will be in my prayers.
Love,

Dear Sherry and family...It is hard to find words to express what we feel in our hearts at such a time of loss. Heaven has gained a saint, but we have lost a very special friend who will be deeply missed. Diane was a happy person who loved life. Let us remember her that way. Sincerely with love, Linda Sechrest

To the Family of Diane,
For several years Diane and I worked together at Park Place Medical Center downtown. She was a delight to work with. We laughed, cried, and on some instances got caught by the supervisor with our feet on the desk,as she once said "just kicking back".No matter how tough things were she always had a smile on her face,a kind word for everyone, and such an outgoing laugh that you couldn't be down for no more than an instant. Earth's loss is Heaven's gain.
At Home With God,
Linda Parks

Our prayers are with all of you at this time. Diane is a very special person always caring about everyone and she will never be forgotten. I just picture her in heaven, so excited to see all those who have gone before her. She was picked by God from all the rest to join these and how excited they must be. We love all of you and please know that we are praying for you. THE LORD IS OUR STRENGTH. Love, Joe and Debbie Amy
