J. BOWER Obituary
He was the husband of Nancy Belfield Bower whom he married on June 15, 1957 at Church of The Redeemer, Bryn Mawr. Bob was born May 2, 1934, in Sayre, the son of James Davis Bower and Mildred MacDonald Bower.
Bob graduated from Valley Forge Military Academy in 1952 and The University of Michigan College of Pharmacy in 1957. He was the owner of Bower's Pharmacy, where he was pharmacist for 30 years, retiring in 1987. Bob was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Wellsboro. He was a member of Larry's Creek Rod and Gun Club and Boger Run Hunting Club. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors at Citizens & Northern Bank. Bob served on many committees of various organizations throughout the community including Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro Cemetery and St. Paul's Episcopal Church. As a business owner, Bob enjoyed the chance to touch people's lives through employment opportunities, promoting Wellsboro's sense of community and contributing to the beauty of downtown. As an outdoorsman he enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing and the friendships formed through those pursuits and his close relationship with his dogs.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Belfield Bower of Wellsboro; sons, David (Diane) Bower of Merrimack, N.H., William (Wendy) Bower of New Paltz, N.Y.; daughter, Jennifer (Joseph) Borgesi of Orchard Park, N.Y.; grandchildren, Katie Bower, Aimee Bower, Kyle Bower, Peter Borgesi and Aubrey Borgesi.
Friends and family are invited to Bob's Life Celebration on Thursday, May 10, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, a "Life Celebration Home," 139 Main St., Wellsboro. Memorial service will be Friday, May 11, 11 a.m., at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Pearl St., Wellsboro, with the Rev. Canon Gregory Hinton, officiating. Burial will be in Wellsboro Cemetery. My first job was at the soda fountain at Bower's Pharmacy. From the time I was 16 working for him, until 40 years later, he always had a "hello" for me when we would see one another about town. Always asked about my mom and my family. He was a wonderful man for our town and will be missed. My prayers to his family.

Dear Bower Family,
My deepest condolences to you all. Bob was such a wonderful man. I always enjoyed seeing him singing along (and smiling) with the Wellsboro Men's Chorus. And, one of my most favorite memories of him was when he made chocolate mousse for a bunch of us girls when we were younger. That was the first time I ever had chocolate mousse ... and it was delicious! I always think of him when I see chocolate mousse. He definitely created a lot of goodness in his life!
