My Condolences to you and your Family

January 2, 2014

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the Konstas family. My wife knew Angie as a coach and as a fellow teacher at Mahanoy Area. My memories of Angie go even back further to the mid 60s, thru the 70's and beyond. He was a great coach, a excellent teacher and also an advisor helping all the students and youth even if they did not attend JTHS or MA . Regards Joe and Carol Kalista Barnesville Pa

I want to extend my expression of sympathy to the Konstas family on Angie's death. May you understand the peace that passes all understanding as Angie is living in the promise of the Resurrection.
I was a student at JTHS where he was my 9th grade English teacher. The subterranean classroom was gloomy, but he kept the mood bright.
He will be remembered by many at JTHS as a great football coach.

Dear Berthamae,

So sorry to hear the news of Dear Angie's Death. I will always remember his good cheer and beautiful smile.

I was 16 years old when he was my football coach and teacher. The memories of both are so vivid - The THS varsity team was beaten by Mt Carmel and we went to play as Jayvees. He told us to put our helmets on before we left the bus he came down the line and whacked us all and said - now who are you gonna be afraid of come Monday practice. Go out and show them who you are. We did and we beat them. He has remained in my life through all my years. The conversations - the memories. He and his wife were a pleasure to welcome into where you were in your life. There can be tears - but there is much more - a celebration that you have known he and his wife and held them close and called them friend. God gives us gifts in wrapping - and when known - they are treasures. I lost a great treasure and my heart while greatly sadden - knows it walked with and talked with greatness.

Going back many, many, years, Angie was my first love. I was only in grade school!!! He came home from the Navy. Bought a car and asked me if I wanted to go for a ride. I was so excited ~~~ Until he asked his current girlfriend to sit in the middle and I had to sit by the passenger door ~~~ I was heartbroken!!! He then went away to college and I lost track of his whereabouts!!! Then low and behold ~~~ He appeared at THS teaching English Literature and he was my 10th grade home room teacher. Every morning he walked in home room ~~~ picked up a piece of chalk, said nothing, and wrote "THINK" across the whole blackboard.
I grew up around the corner, what a beautiful, wonderful, caring, loving family. So devoted and blessed to be able to spend a lifetime together!!!
Angie is at home with his parents, our Loving Father, whom he served throughout his life.
May God bless and keep you all in His care ~~~ Comforting each of you in your hour of need. May you feel His loving arms embracing you during these difficult times.

Fondly remembering all the good times we shared from the 1940's and 1950's in the North and Middle Ward!!!

Mr. K was my English teacher. We had to memorize & recite poetry. When he challenged us to recite "We Are Seven" I accepted the challenge and recited it. Still one of my favorite poems. I enjoyed him as a teacher, he was young & forward thinking. AF THS 57.
