Alice was a wonderful choir director and one of my favorite residents of, "Trilby." I was the, "babysitter" of the 4 children for many years. They were fortunate to have such wonderful parents!

Alice was one of my favorite people! She influenced me more than any teacher! I remember the choir at church, babysitting her children and, in later years, visiting with her. Music is still a part of my life an I owe my level of expertise to Alice!

Surely God needed help with His heavenly music that only Alice could share with the angels...I was fortunate enough to teach with Alice at Meadowvale; I wonder if you knew how hard she worked to do her job? For a while there was no music room and Alice would push/pull/shove her piano up and down our hallowed halls bringing life to the notes and stories; many a child has gone on to play an instrument and/or sing a tune because of her encouragement. I even helped her collate our DKG sisters' song book! I always admired Alice's positive outlook and cheery nature. God Bless all her family, loved ones, and friends. Next time Alice comes to mind, just sing a song! That is what I did Wed. eve here in St. Petersburg, Fl where I am Gma sitting for 5 month old Kaylee; I belted out the school song she wrote for Meadowvale as I stolled alone the gulf beach. I am blessed with such wonderful memories...

Alice was a fine example of how to live this life. She taught with a sincerity and wealth of knowledge and entertained with her talented hands. We will all miss her!

The sisters of Alpha Epsilon Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma are sad to hear of Alice's passing. She was a devoted member, past president & ready piano accompanist. She wrote our songbook. She will be missed. We just heard of the passing of another sister, Rhoda Kramp, also a former Washington Local teacher. They served for years as our Music Chairmen.
May they make music together in heaven!

Mrs Nightingale was a very special lady and an awesome music teacher. I had her from 1967-1975 as a student at Meadowvale Elementary. Thinking about her brings a smile to my face as she made music class fun. She would even let us bring in our favorite 45LP and play it during class :-) My thoughts and prayers go out to her family - May our Heavenly Father wrap you all safely in His loving arms and give you peace and many many happy memories to carry you through.
