John Nanna Rood

ROOD John Nanna John Nanna Rood, age 70 of Lexington KY/Mesa AZ, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008. He attended Athens High School, Columbus East High School, (class of 1956), and Ohio University. He was 'All City' and 'All State' in baseball, quarterbacked the 1955 undefeated Columbus City football champs at East High School and received the Columbus City High School Agonis Award for academic and athletic achievement. John was an avid golfer and shared his love for the game by teaching for many years. He was two-time Champion at Riverby Hills Golf Course (Bowling Green, OH). John was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He was preceded in death by father, Robert Rood; mother, Fern Rood; stepmother, Kathryn Rood. He is survived by wife, Carol Pliska; son, John (Jenny) Rood; son, Mark Rood; daughter, Leslie Rood; son, Jared Rood and daughters-in-law, Terri and Caroline Rood; 7 grandchildren, Shauna, Justin, Luke, Kaitlyn, Katie, Susanna and Keller Rood; siblings, Jed (Janis) Rood, Sarah (Richard) Stewart; Carol Rood; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He believed in his almighty Lord and Savior and will be greatly missed in loving memory forever. Reception will be held Friday, May 30th 6-8 p.m. at 2611 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH.
