Shelley Higbea Obituary

HIGBEA Shelley S. Shelley S. Higbea, age 48, of Napoleon, OH, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at her residence in Napoleon, OH. She was born June 9, 1960 in Napoleon, to the late George E. and Donna M. (VonDeylen) Higbea. Shelley worked at McDonald's in Napoleon. She formerly was the Administrative Assistant at DOWA THT America in Bowling Green, OH, the former director of the Henry County Humane Society, accountant at George's Furniture, and an employee of the Filling Home of Mercy all of Napoleon, OH. She was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon, where she was formerly secretary of church council and a member of the Altar Guild. She was also a member of the Napoleon American Legion Auxiliary, as well an avid advocate for animal rights. She was a 1978 graduate of Napoleon High School, a graduate of Northwest Technical School, Archbold, OH and a graduate of the University of Phoenix. She is survived by a sister, Cathy (Bill) Glanz; her beloved dog, McCarthy; aunts, Lois Arps and Shirley Higbea, and an uncle, Bill (Janet) VonDeylen all of Napoleon, OH and other close family members, Margaret Glanz, Ken (Deb) Glanz, Melissa (Terry) Studer and Emma and Marielle Glanz. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Laura VonDeylen and George R. and Helen Higbea. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Napoleon with Pastor James Castello officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Napoleon. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. The family suggests memorials to the Henry County Humane Society, the Filling Home of Mercy, or to the Emanuel Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be made at www.rodenbergerfuneral home.com
