Steven Novak Obituary
Steven P. Novak, 78, of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on March 26, 1943 in Toledo, Ohio to Steve and Dorothy Novak. Steven was a 1961 graduate of Waite High School, where he excelled on the bowling team and won letters in track for his success in the discus event. On July 7, 1963 Steve married the love of his life, Diann N. Gabriel. Steve and Diann were both East Toledo natives and lived in the same house in East Toledo for the last 56 years. Steve was a lifelong Christian and devoted much of his adult life to Bible study and striving to follow God's Word. Steve and Diann quietly partnered in financially supporting numerous Christian organizations. He was a natural athlete and passionately enjoyed playing softball and bowling for many years. Steve worked in manufacturing as a production welder.
Steven is survived by his brother, Paul (Debora) Novak and sister-in-law, Alice J. Johns. He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Diann.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd in Oregon on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, from 2-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Services will be livestreamed on the Freck Funeral Chapel Facebook page. Private burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Spirit and Truth Church (Oregon) or Heritage Church of God (Maumee).

It's hard to believe it has been aalmost a whole year since Steve passed on. I had visited them from time to time when he and Dianne would sit out on their porch in summer. He was always so congenial, and peacable, a genuinely friendly person. His spirit of goodwill and the scriptural fruits of the spirit were very much noticable in Steve. I am grateful to the Lord for his being a part of my life and warming my heart as he did so often.

Steve and Dianne had been my neighbors for several years. I had met him in late 1966 when he and I worked together in the Plating Room of the old DeVilbiss Co. I enjoyed having them as neighbors very much. I will miss them both, and was suprised that Steve has passed, and didn't find this out until after the funeral. I am glad that this fine friend is now with the Lord and his dear wife in Paradise.
