Russell, age 90, of Luna
Pier, Michigan, formerly of Ottawa Lake, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on September 28, 2012, while vacationing in Northern Michigan. She was born in Bedford Township, Monroe, Michigan on February 28, 1922, to Pauline M. (Kasperzak) and Vincent M. Briskey. A Registered Nurse, Theresa was a 1943 graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. She enjoyed playing euchre and golfing with her husband and friends. Most precious to Theresa was her family. They were her pride and joy,
especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family will remember her as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 69 years, Richard L. Russell; children, Richard (Bernadette) Russell, Gerald (Marcia) Russell, Thomas (Linda) Russell,
and Rita (Thomas) Ogden;
grandchildren, Tracey
(Christopher) Warner,
Thomas (Sarah) Russell, Corey Russell, Jonathan (Nicole) Ogden, Philip (Sarah) Ogden, Hannah Ogden, and Richard B.
Russell, and great-grandchildren, Matthew, Braden, Emily, Jack, Luke, Kayla, Madison, and Noah. Theresa was preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters and her loving granddaughter, Kerry Russell.
The family will receive guests at Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main Street, Sylvania, Ohio (419) 882-2033, on Thursday, October 4, 2012, from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. with 1 hour visitation prior to Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2214 Manhattan Street, Erie, Michigan.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Theresa M. Russell Scholarship Fund at Saint Joseph Catholic School in Erie, Michigan, or to Notre Dame Academy in Toledo, Ohio. Online condolences may be offered to the family at
