Theresa P.
Theresa P. Thornton, age 84 years, of Toledo, died Monday, January 18, 2016, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. Theresa was born in Toledo on July 30, 1931, to Frank and Mary (Leasor) Zywiczynski. She married Richard J. Thornton on July 23, 1949, at Rosary Cathedral, and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2011.
Theresa was a homemaker and longtime member of Little Flower Catholic Church. She enjoyed bingo at the church and visiting casinos, as well as traveling with her husband in their retirement years. She could always be depended on when there was a family need.
Surviving are her daughter, Mary (Mark) Bowles; grandchildren, Adam (Tiffani) Bowles and Maggie (Nicky) Bowles; great-grandson, Ethan Bowles; brothers, Henry Zywiczynski and Norman Zahn. Many nieces and nephews and extended family also survive. Preceded in death by her brother, Frank Zywiczynski.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 22 in the Thomas I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Rd. (419-531-4424) where a scripture service will be held at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 23 in Little Flower Catholic Church, where the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Sunset Retirement Community Residents' Assistance Fund or Little Flower Catholic Church.

Mary and Mark and grandchildren, I know you won't remember me as you were very young the single time I met you. I worked with Dick at Champion Spark Plug co. He was a committee-man and my vice-chairman. I had great respect for him and your mom Terry. What a great couple! The last time I saw Terry and your dad was a few years ago at our Kroger store in the neighborhood and she was taking care of Dick as she always did( he couldn't remember me,) so she helped him out. I just want you to know that Champion people liked them and loved them like family and we extend our deepest sympathy to you all for your loss. GOD bless them and all of you!
