William Black Obituary
William P. Black, 72, of Oak Harbor, OH, died suddenly Saturday, August 19, 2023 at his home. He was born March 17, 1951 in Bowling Green, OH to the late Frank and Edith (Morelock) Black. He was a graduate of Maumee High School. William then enlisted in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. On May 24, 1995, he married the former Karen S. Shepard and she survives. Bill retired in 2005 from the US Post Office in Toledo, OH where he worked in maintenance fixing boilers and doing electrical work. He was a Life Member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Karen of Oak Harbor; daughter, Crystal Josephson of Toledo, OH; brother, Tracy Black of Toledo, OH; step-daughter, Melissa Nufher of Fremont, OH; step-son, Jeff Shepard of Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Gavin, Dakota, and Meghan; and step-grandchildren, Anthony and Rachel Nufher.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Crosser & Priesman Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 301 N. Locust Street, Oak Harbor, OH 43449. There will be no services at this time. Memorial Contribution may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.crosserpriesmanfuneralhome.com.
