Edward J. Schenck EWING - Edward J. (Eddie) Schenck, 82, of Ewing, N.J. passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Capital Health-Hopewell after a brief illness. Edward was born in North Trenton (Lincoln Homes) on December 24, 1933 to parents, Frederick A. and Alwilda McLain. Edward received his formal education through the Trenton Public School System and after graduating Trenton Central High School he served honorably in the U. S. Navy. Upon completion of his naval service he joined the NJ Department of Corrections as a corrections officer for approximately 5 years. In 1992, Edward retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years. He was currently employed by A-1 Limo as a driver. Edward was a member of VFW Post 7298 in Ewing, NJ and a lifetime member of American Legion Post 182 in Trenton, NJ. Predeceased by his parents, Frederick A. and Alwilda McLain Schenck; sister, Elizabeth McLain Schenck. Edward is survived by a brother, Frederick (Quinta) Schenck of University Park, Florida; a daughter, Angela (Rufus, Jr) Law of Trenton, NJ; 2 grandsons; 2 great-grandchildren; god-daughter, Tonka Tucker of Lawrenceville, NJ; special friend, Helen Dash Brooks of Browns Mills, NJ; special buddies, Carl West of Ewing, NJ, Hector Gonzalez of Bordentown, NJ and George Lee of Plymouth Meeting, PA and a host of other friends. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Hughes Funeral Home, 324 Bellevue Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08618.
