Charles McConnell Obituary

Charles J. McConnell, 74, of Normalville, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at Excela Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Harry and Pearl Kuhns McConnell. Charles had been a resident of Normalville since 1991. Prior to his retirement, he was a construction worker for White Brothers Construction. He attended the Clinton Church of God and was a member of the Bridgeport Sportsmen's Club. Charles is survived by his special friend, Wilma Adams, and her son, Jacob Adams Jr., both of Normalville; his daughter, Patti Kline, of Connellsville; his grandchildren, Brian, Sarah and Mary Kathryn Kline, all of Connellsville; his brothers, Frank McConnell and his wife, Mary Ella, of Mt. Pleasant, and Gerald McConnell and his wife, Phyllis, of California; his sisters, Elsie Zylka, of Mt. Pleasant, Ruth Washburn, of Scottdale, Alice Krienbrook, Mary May and her husband, Lloyd, Rosalie Garchar and her husband, William, and Jean Michalczyk and her husband, Joe, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Carol Smith and her husband, Don, of Ohio; a brother-in-law, Tom Grimm, of Mt. Pleasant; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Earl and Wilkus McConnell, and two sisters, Fern Neumann and June Grimm. Family and friends will be received at the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 406 E. Washington St., Mt. Pleasant, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Joseph Wingrove officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Dickerson Run Union Cemetery.
