1992 - 2024

Steven Zachory Burns, 31, of Reno, Nevada, and previously of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024. He was born in Latrobe March 27, 1992. Steven was unmistakable and stood out from the crowd. His character and exuberance, along with his zealous way of living life, impacted all those who knew and loved him. He graduated from Greensburg Salem High School in 2010 and had a passion for music that extended well beyond his education. A gifted instrumentalist, Steven's talented guitar playing brought joy to all who had the pleasure to hear it. In addition to his musical talents, Steven had a fearless enthusiasm for the outdoors and spent countless hours rock hounding, rock climbing, and hiking. A gentle, kind, and loving soul, his compassion and generosity knew no bounds. Steven spoke kindly about all he interacted with and felt it important to share with those around him just how much he was loved and cared for. At the time of his passing, he was survived by his mother, Faith Stickler (Mike), of Reno, Nevada; his father, Michael Bauer (Laura), of Gibsonia; his stepmother, Michelle Bauer, of New Alexandria; his grandparents, Lawrence Burns (Joanne), of Latrobe; half-brothers, Joshua and John Bauer; stepbrothers, Micah (Molly) and Sean Stickler; his maternal aunt/uncle, Scott (Elizabeth) Burns, of Nevada; and cousins, Kyle and Ryan Burns; and paternal aunts and uncles: Carl Bauer (Dana), of Latrobe; James Bauer (Lesley), of League City, Texas; Julieanne McFeaters (Tim) of Latrobe; Jonathan Bauer (Denise), of Latrobe; and numerous cousins and many great-aunts and uncles who loved him dearly.Steven was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Joyce Burns; and his paternal grandparents, Carl and Adeline Bauer; as well as an uncle, Robert Charles Bauer. On Feb. 4, 2024, Steven's beloved grandfather, Lawrence R. Burns, passed away. The family is planning a ceremony separate from Steven's. However, there will be a memorial table for Lawrence R. Burns at Steven's visitation in Latrobe on Friday, February 16th for all those who wish to pay their last respects to Steven Burns and his grandfather, Lawrence R. Burns. Please join us from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, at LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERA; HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe, PA 15650. Steven's memorial service will start at 7 p.m. Please come prepared to share a story about Steven. The interment will be at St. Bernard's Cemetery in Indiana at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024. All are welcome to both the service and the interment.
