Thurston Laurin Obituary

Thurston Edward Laurin, 91, of Pittsburgh, Greentree, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015. He was the beloved husband of 67 years to Lillian K. (Kaiser) Laurin; son of the late Eric T. and Elizabeth King Laurin; loving father of Dale (Barbara) Laurin, of New York City, N.Y., Kenneth (Barbara) Laurin, of South Fayette; brother of Richard (late Laura) Laurin and Jane (Robert) Lauer; grandfather of Jennifer (Josh) Fuoco and Erica (Andre) Dickson; and great-grandfather of Caleb Fuoco, Katelyn Dickson, and Eli Fuoco. Mr Laurin was a proud member of the Army Air Corps during World War II, having served as a pilot on a heavy bomber B-24, member of the 19th Bomb Squadron and 22nd Bomb Group. He was a member of Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church, Greentree. He enjoyed spending time with all his family, going out to family dinners, making a pilgrimage to the Holy Land and volunteering for Meals on Wheels for his church. Celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Wallace Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1146 Greentree Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220. www.slaterfuneral.com.

One of my 2 loving uncles and a real hero to me. He was a true gentleman, a true Christian American and just a really great Uncle. I miss him and his family and the trips my family took in the summer months to Pa to visit them and my dad's parents. Uncle T you were a great man and we all miss you!

the tragic event. I lost my father 5 years ago and through the power of Jesus, I am only understanding what happened. I hope and pray that your Mom is ok through it all. If you need anything please call me.
