Virginia Tamasy Obituary

Virginia M. "Ginny" Tamasy, 64, of Ruffs Dale, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015. She was born May 1, 1950, in Sewickley, a daughter of the late Philip and Clara (Rittelmann) Swarlis. Upon graduation from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Ginny worked as an art director for A.N.D. Associates of Pittsburgh; Bureau of Forestry; The Fireplace Restaurant; her own custom sign business, Virginia Signs; and Yough School Transportation Services. Residing mostly in Ruffs Dale, her main job and major accomplishment was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Tom Tamasy; children, Aaron Tamasy and girlfriend, Angela Garzarelli, Michael Ludwig and wife, Laura, Nicholas Tamasy and wife, Amy, Julia McLaughlin and husband, Daniel and Maxwell Tamasy; grandchildren, Quinten Tamasy, Alexandra Ludwig, Evan Ludwig, Leif McLaughlin and Jordan Bryan; siblings, James Swarlis, Richard Swarlis and partner, David Anthony, Paul Swarlis and wife, Theresa, and Suzanne Krpicak and husband, Frank; her mother-in-law, Frances Tamasy; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffery Swarlis; sister-in-law, Kathy Ludwig; and father-in-law, Thomas E. Tamasy. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 7:30 p.m. at which time services will be held Saturday at the J. WILLIAM McCAULEY Jr. FUNERAL HOME INC., 901 Vine St., West Newton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Westmoreland County Food Bank, 100 Devonshire Drive, Delmont, PA 15626. www.mccauleyfuneralhome.com.
