Arthur B. Hill, 72, of Greensburg, died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, in The Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Greater Pittsburgh, Greensburg. He was born Sept. 4, 1938, in Greensburg, a son of the late Kenneth E. and Edna Bee Hill. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Greensburg. He served in the Air Force. Prior to his retirement, he was a well tender for Dominion Peoples Gas Co. Mr. Hill was a member of Ligonier Lodge No. 331, Past Master of Philanthropy Lodge 225, a member of the AASR Valley of Pittsburgh, the Syria Temple AAONMS, and the Shrine Band. He was a drummer for "The Selections" band from 1996-2006, as well as an active marching drummer for the Armbrust Veterans Association. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters, Betty and Shirley Hill. He is survived by a son, Arthur B. Hill II and wife, Kerianne, of Greensburg; a daughter, Melissa Hill, of California; a grandson, Kolton Hill; and three sisters, Susan Ivory, of Greensburg, Arleen Hawk, of Greensburg, and Karen Jane Hill, of Orlando, Fla. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the BARNHART FUNERAL HOME, 505 E. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg. Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. W. Stephen Morse officiating. Interment with full military honors accorded by Armbrust Veterans Association will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
