Brenda Hughes Obituary

Brenda J. Hughes, 70, of West Newton, died Saturday, July 29, 2023. She was born Sept. 12, 1952, daughter of the late Robert and Ruth Snyder. Brenda was previously employed by the Pennsylvania State Police at the Greensburg Barracks and the former Valley Independent Newspaper. Surviving are her life partner, Bill Hughes; three children, Bill Hughes III, Kimberly Brennan and husband, David, and Jessica Zuraw and husband, Dennis; grandchildren, D.J. Streets, Jimmy Hackett, Tyler Brennan, Tommy Brennan and Abbey Zuraw; brothers, Robbie Snyder and wife, Patty, and Larry Snyder and wife, Nancy; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Pete. According to her wishes, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Church, 225 N. Second St., West Newton. Arrangements entrusted to the J. WILLIAM MCCAULEY JR. FUNERAL HOME, West Newton.
