Gilbert Rosa Obituary

Gilbert L. Rosa, 65, of Lower Burrell, died Sunday, March 16, 2003, in St. Margaret Hospital, Aspinwall. He was born March 25, 1937, in Avonmore, a son of the late John and Virginia A. Grande Rosa. He was a resident of Lower Burrell for 40 years. He was the self-employed owner of Rosa Construction Company. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell, the New Kensington Moose, the New Kensington Eagles and Lower Burrell American Legion VFW. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean conflict. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, fishing, cooking and playing bingo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dominick Rosa. He is survived by his wife, Flora Daughterty Rosa; a son, Kevin Rosa and his wife, Bonnie, of Indianapolis, Ind.; three daughters, Cheryl Fishback and her husband, Mark, of Granbury, Texas, and Nicole Rosa and Gina Rosa, both of Lower Burrell; seven grandchildren; and a brother, John Rosa of New Kensington. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the FRANK F. GIGLER FUNERAL HOME, 2877 Leechburg Road, Lower Burrell. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell, with the Rev. James Gaston officiating. Interment to follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
