James Edward "Ed" Barkley, 67, of Stahlstown, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 4, 2013, at his home with his family at his side. He was born May 14, 1946, in Connellsville, a son of Betty Sleasman Barkley Keene, of Jacksonville, Fla., and the late Harold Barkley. In addition to his mother, Ed is survived by the love of his life, Wilma "Sis" Tinkey; his children, Earl Barkley and wife, Rhonda and Lloyd Barkley and wife Ashley, all of New Florence, and Jesse Barkley and wife, Susan, of Latrobe; nine grandchildren, including a special grandson, Jr.; 12 great-grandchildren; his brothers, Jerry Bianchi, of Kecksburg, Jess Barkley and wife, Judy, of New Florence, Tex Barkley and wife, Jessica, of Ohio, Greg Barkley and wife, Kim, of Tennessee, and Cheyanne Barkley, of Florida; his sisters, Bridget Dishman and husband, Richard, of Tennessee, and Sara Williams and husband, John, of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful companions, his dogs, Toby and Girl. In addition to his father, Ed was predeceased by a son, James Harold Barkley. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Jess and Shane Barkley for being there from the beginning to the end. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of Route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Road, Melcroft, 724-455-2310, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday with the Rev.
