Jason C. D'Alicandro

1977 - 2021

Jason Carl D'Alicandro, 43, born Dec. 1, 1977, of Plum, passed away tragically Friday, April 2, 2021, and went home to be with the Lord. Born and raised in Pitcairn, Jason was a 1996 graduate of Gateway High School and a long time member of the Presbyterian Church of Pitcairn. A loving son, husband and father of two, Jason was dedicated to his family and his Christian faith. He was employed by Alpha Aromatics, in O'Hara Township for the last 15 years. Jason will be remembered for his laughter, his fun loving nature and his fantastic beards. He enjoyed reading, book collecting and had a genuine love for learning new things. He enthusiastically celebrated his family's Scottish heritage and especially loved to don his clan's kilt each year to attend the annual Highland Games. His wife and young daughters were the lights of his life. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Gary A. "Wizard" D'Alicandro, maternal grandparents, Eleanor and W. Owen Mathias, and paternal grandparents, Clara and Andrew D'Alicandro. He is survived by his devoted wife of 16 years, Sharon (Jenkins) D'Alicandro, his beloved daughters, Abby Rose and Riley Paige D'Alicandro, his mother, Sherry Mathias D'Alicandro, of Pitcairn, and his sister, Nicole D'Alicandro, also of Pitcairn. He is also survived by nephews, Tyler D'Alicandro, Michael Burkett and Jesse Greyshock, nieces, Devin Rupp-D'Alicandro and Sadie Greyshock; great-nephew, Kyle Madden, mother & father-in-law, Anne and Stan Jenkins, of Plum, sister-in-law, Laura (Shawn) Greyshock, of Tarentum; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and cherished friends. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the WM. O. PEARCE FUNERAL HOME INC., 318 Wall Ave., Pitcairn. A private service will be held Thursday, April 8, 2021, with interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park in Monroeville. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions in Jason's name be made to Mission to North America, P.O. Box 890233, Charlotte, NC 28289, memo line "Resurrection Indiana" or to the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium specifically earmarked for the rhinos, which were Jason's particular favorite. Due to current CDC recommendations the wearing of masks and social distancing will be followed.
