Kenneth Palyo Obituary

Kenneth William Palyo, 73, of Turtle Creek, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. He was the beloved husband to Donna (Theilacker) Palyo for 48 years; loving father of Kimberly (Craig) Lucas, of Sarver; very special "Pap Pap" to Emily Marie and Andrew Ryan Lucas; son of the late Mike and Anna (Szekely) Palyo, formerly of North Braddock; brother of the Rev. Eugene (Lofoaine) Palyo, of Kapolei, Hawaii, Bernice (late John Robert) Evankovich, of Plum, the late Michael (surviving spouse, Sandy) Palyo, of Bellevue, and Leonard Palyo, of North Braddock; brother-in-law of Richard and Carolyn Westerhoff, of Scott Township and James Theilacker, of Forest Hills. He also is survived by cousins, nieces, nephews, greatnieces and greatnephews. Ken worked as a motor inspector for LTV (formerly J and L Steel), in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Ushers Club at St. Colman Church, and the North Park Seniors Fishing Club. Ken also enjoyed his vegetable garden, especially watching the tomatoes grow. He loved to make nut rolls for everyone to enjoy. The pride and joy of his life was spending time with his grandchildren. The family would like to express special gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Family Hospice and Palliative Care at Cantebury and Oakbrook Cancer Center in Greensburg for their caring and compassion over the years. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at JOBE FUNERAL HOME and CREMATORY INC., corner of 118 Shaw and Triboro avenues, Turtle Creek, (412 823-1950). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Colman Church. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery. http://www.jobefuneralhome.com
