Mary D'Angelo Obituary

Mary Anna 'Marie' (Steligo) D'Angelo, 98, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Jan. 02, 2025, in the St. Anne Home. She was born May 13, 1926, in Whitney, a daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Yurick Steligo. Marie was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, their Rosary Altar Society, and was a volunteer at the Greensburg St. Vincent de Paul store. She was a 'servant of life,' devoted to her husband and raising her family. She offered kindness and compassion to neighbors, friends, and family and was steadfast in her Catholic faith. If you stopped in to see her, she fed you. If you needed a ride somewhere, she'd take you, and if you are reading this obituary, you've probably received a card from her at some point. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Secondine W. 'Sec' D'Angelo; and her brother, George Steligo. She is survived by her five children, Jerome D'Angelo (Edward Donovan) of Pittsburgh, Kathleen Kenney (Michael) of Greensburg, Regis D'Angelo (Carol) of Pittsburgh, Dennis D'Angelo (Sherrie) of Jeannette, and Richard D'Angelo (Kim) of Greensburg; six grandchildren, Katrina Lucas (Jeff), Ashley Heinnickel (Erik), Gabe Kenney (Roxanne Ruminski), Isabel D'Angelo (John Rodella), Drake D'Angelo (Sammi), and Christie McGinnis (Nick); six great-grandchildren, William, Jack, and Andrew Lucas and Henry, Anna, and Stanley Heinnickel; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends of Marie will be received Sunday, from 2 to 6 p.m., in the CLEMENT L. PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 409 W. Pittsburgh St., Greensburg, PA 15601, (724)-837-0020. Prayers of transfer will be said in the funeral home Monday, at 9:15 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., in St. Bartholomew Church, Crabtree, with Fr. Justin Matro, OSB, celebrating. Private interment follows in Calvary Hill Cemetery, Crabtree. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Anne Home for their loving and compassionate care of their mother. Marie's family has entrusted her care to the PANTALONE FUNERAL HOME INC., Greensburg. For online condolences/directions, visit us at pantalone.com. Natale N. Pantalone, supervisor.

Jerome and Family, We are so sorry to learn of your mother's passing. It was good seeing you at Mary Anne's Party. Roseann and I stayed in Philadelphia longer than we anticipated and came home with Covid, so we both tested positive and have been 10 days in seclusion. We have enrolled your Mother in St. Anthony Chapel perpetual prayer and have lite a candle in your Mother's name. A favorite memory, when in Crab Tree for fireworks and your mom took flour eggs and what ever and made pasta for everyone on the spot! Keeping your family in prayer. Norm and Roseann
