Roland Pacienza Obituary

Roland M. "Rollo" Pacienza, 88, of Greensburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2013, in Greensburg Care Center. He was born May 9, 1925, in Canonsburg, to the late Antonio and Marianna (Pallitta) Pacienza. Prior to retirement, he was a partner, owner and operator of Advance Furniture and Advance Plumbing and Heating, Greensburg. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. Roland was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Navy on the U.S.S. George F. Elliott. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, Frank "Flip", Michael and Nicholas "Moe" Pacienza. He is survived by his wife, Mildred "Babe" (Bognano) Pacienza; three daughters, Sherry Kolbosky and her husband, Robert, Debbie Rhodes and her husband, Robert, and Kathy Learn and her husband, Paul, all of Greensburg; seven grandchildren, Tina LaForte (Joseph), Gretchen Herron (Joseph), Stacey Brower (Daniel), Jonathan Rhodes (Amy), Corey Rhodes (Shannon), Joshua Learn (Heather) and Matthew Learn; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Anthony "Moons" Pacienza and his wife, Betty, of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg. Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, in the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Greensburg. Entombment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park Mausoleum with full military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 981, South Greensburg. The family would like to thank Excela Home Health and Grane Hospice.
