Shirley M. Bear

Shirley M. (Clark ) Honse Bear, 67, of Derry Township, formerly of Pleasant Unity, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at her son's home in Derry Township. She was born May 16, 1936, in Pleasant Unity, a daughter of the late Earl Clark and Mildred (Holzer) Clark Kuhns. Prior to retirement, she worked in the lab at Latrobe Area Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Trauger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Carl C. Honse; her second husband, Earl H. Bear; and two brothers, Robert and William Clark. She is survived by two sons, Carl R. Honse and wife, Judy, of Pleasant Unity, and Kevin R. Honse and wife, Marcia, of Derry; a stepdaughter, Sabrina Blake, of Union, Ky.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Shaffer and husband, Thomas, of Champion, and Donna Baker and husband, Robert, of Weltytown; a brother, Rick Kuhns and wife, Karen, of Calumet; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, where funeral services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Kurt F. Kusserow officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Township.
