Thomas L. Hauger, 86, of Latrobe, died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Oakland. The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was born May 6, 1919, in Bradenville. He was the son of William E. Hauger and Rose (Smythe) Hauger, and a brother of the late William B. Hauger, of Latrobe, and Jerome F. Hauger, of Neville Island. He was also predeceased by an infant daughter in 1943 in Victoria, Texas, where he and his wife lived during his military service, and also by a great-grandson, Parker Bridge, in 2005. Tom was a graduate of Latrobe High School with the class of 1937. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was married to his wife, Lucille, on May 31, 1941, at the Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin. He was a 54 year-member of St. Vincent Basilica Parish. Tom retired from Latrobe Die Casting in 1983 after 43 years of employment. He was a member of the Touchdown Club, Latrobe Elks Lodge #907, Cooperstown Veteran's and Sportsman's Association, and the AMVETS. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. Tom is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille A. (Butler) Hauger, of Latrobe; four sons, Thomas J. Hauger, of Blairsville, Terence L. Hauger and his sons, Simon, of Philadelphia, and Nathan, of Arizona, Daniel R. Hauger and his wife, Jackie (Cochran) Hauger, of Clarksburg, and their children, J.D., of Pittsburgh, and Brooke (Hauger) Chimino, of Blairsville, Bernard W. Hauger and his wife, Robin (Greenwalt) Hauger, and their children, Joshua, Amanda, and Samantha, all of Greensburg; a daughter, Jill (Hauger) Bridge Caldwell and her sons, Jason Bridge, of Latrobe, and Tyler Caldwell, of Derry; three great-grandchildren, Faith, Micah and Aila Hauger; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Vincent Basilica. Interment will follow in St. Vincent Cemetery, Latrobe. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent Basilica Parish, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA 15650, or to a
charity of one's choice.
