David G. Timko Sr., 71, of Springdale, died Monday, Oct. 12, 2015, at UMPC St. Margaret, Aspinwall. Born Nov 16. 1943, in New Kensington, he was a son of the late William and Sue Vargo Timko. Dave retired as a roof bolter with Bailey Mine and was employed at Renton Mine before Bailey. He served in the Army during Vietnam War from Dec. 11, 1964, to July 15, 1965, after which he joined the National Guard from Aug. 2, 1965, to July 19, 1974. Dave was of the Catholic Faith, loving his family, his home and most of all, watching all sports with his son, David. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years, Susan (Babincak) Timko; his children, Kimberly Timko, of Springdale, Karen and her husband, Robert Byers, of Stockbridge, Ga., and David Timko Jr., of Springdale; brother of Joseph and his wife, Rose Timko, of Springdale; and proud grandfather of Jessica (Robert) Black, of Springdale, Zachary Whale, of Mt. Lebanon, Brian and Brandon Byers, of Stockbridge, Ga. Friends and relatives will be received 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION and ALTERNATIVE SERVICES INC., 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Township.
