I was fortunate to grow up with Pete as my neighbor, and never will forget his kindness. As a very young girl, Pete always stopped to talk to me, and I thought the world of him. Even as I grew older, and our chats turned into a friendly wave from the porch, I looked forward to seeing him as I passed by. His prescence will be missed.

Had the opportunity of meeting Pete last summer. He was thrilled that I hunted ginseng and other wild roots around the area. He taught me a few things and even pointed me in the right direction of a ginseng patch. And that's where I found my biggest root to date! Rip Pete! I have a few more secret spots to check out this year ; )

My Uncle Pete was the last of the original Pysh clan in the U.S. I moved to Omaha Ne. in the 1960's but would visit Pittsburgh once every couple years. When I could find the time, I drove up to Bairdford to visit Uncle Pete and Aunt Dorothy. Once I took my oldest son Doug with me to meet his Great Uncle and Aunt. He was enthralled. Uncle Pete shared such great stories about my Dad, Ted Pysh and all of his siblings and my Grandparents. I am truly saddened by his passing. What a wonderful patriarch he was for the Pysh family. Even though I rarely saw him, I will greatly miss that he is gone. Ted PYsh
