Ronald McCullough Obituary

Ronald James McCullough Sr., 58, of Leechburg, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2014, in Good Samaritan Hospice Unit at Concordia, Cabot. Born Aug. 10, 1956, in Natrona Heights, he was a son of the late Howard Wray and Betty (Setzenfand) McCullough. Ron lived in the Leechburg area most of his life and was a 1974 graduate of Kiski Area High School. He was employed by West Penn Chevy Olds and was the owner and operator of Ron McCullough Auto Body of Leechburg, retiring in 2007. Ron was a Leechburg volunteer fireman for 13 years, a member of the Leechburg Moose No. 102, where he served as an officer, and was also a Legionaire member. A talented drummer, Ron played with the country band, Magnum, for 40 years. He enjoyed working on cars, playing in the band and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Norman F. "Fritz" McCullough. Ron is survived by his children, Carla M. (Patrick "Woody") Lockhart, of Vandergrift, and Ronald J. (Diara) McCullough Jr., of North Apollo; grandchildren, Marissa, Lauren, Gino, Elias and Aven McCullough and Cooper Lockhart; brothers, Howard W. McCullough, of Leechburg, William C. (Connie) McCullough, of Vandergrift, and Gregory A. (Lois) McCullough, of Frazer Township; sisters, Barbara McCullough, of Apollo, and Wendy Ash, of Vandergrift; numerous nieces and nephews; and his pet dog, Crosby. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014, in the CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 300 Market St., Leechburg. Funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. with Pastor Gary Lyon officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery, Avonmore. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family c/o Curran Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 300 Market St., Leechburg, PA 15656.
