William H. "Bill" Lenz, 81, of South Buffalo Township, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at his home. Bill was born July 18, 1940, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Frances Louise (Rimmel) and Harry Edward Lenz. He was the widower of Katherine A. "Kitty" (Killeen) Lenz, who passed in 2012. Bill was a 1958 graduate of Springdale High School. He was drafted into the Army and was stationed at the Army War College in Carlisle. Bill attended the New Kensington campus of Penn State University, where he received his associate degree in electrical engineering in 1960. Bill was employed as a maintenance foreman at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge for 38 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeport and of the Tarentum Lodge of the Pittsburgh Syria Shriners. He enjoyed the outdoors, talking and telling stories with friends and family, watching football and most of all spending time with his grandsons. Bill is survived by his sons, Kurt and Melanie Lenz, of St. Petersburg; Ryan and Christine Lenz, of Pine Township; and five grandsons, Connor, Bradan, Elijah, William and Benjamin. He is also survived by his brothers, Jack and Pam Lenz, of Sharon, and David and Barbara Lenz, of Harwick. Family and friends will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021, at the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. Visitation will continue Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Fifth St., Freeport. Pastor Eric Damon will officiate. Burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery.
