I'm very sad to hear of this great loss! Alfons was a lovely, gracious man and I always enjoyed the chance to visit with him ... on the tennis court and off ...

I remember Al taking my husband and son fishing in the Narrows. He was a confident fisherman and taught my son a lot about salt water fishing. They came home with a Ling Cod and several salmon. A good day was had by all. Thanks Alfons!!

Rosemary and I are sorry to hear of Alfons' passing and we pass our condolences to Terri and the family.
We met through soccer and played on several mens teams over the years. We travelled to Canada to play and in turn hosted a Canadian teams here in Tacoma. We enjoyed the after-game social events and conversations about our past lives in the countries of our birth. Whilst Al was an imposing figure on the sports field, he was in truth a "gentle giant". After our soccer experience we were priveleged to share our Christian belief with Al and Terri at Skyline Presbyterian Church.
"Al, when you form a team up there in heaven, keep a spot for me" Bob ... RIP

I remember Al with a great smile and always Terri at his side. You could see the love that they shared. He was a kind and gentle man with an obvious faith in God. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him, as well as his family.
