ANN BOSKOVICH Obituary

Ann Marie Boskovich 10/23/1955 ~1/13/2013 Ann (Annie) Boskovich left us without warning on the evening of January 13, 2013. She was born in Tacoma, WA to Theodore N. Boskovich and Mary (Dorotich) Boskovich. She grew up in historic Old Town among a strong Croatian community with her loving brothers Bill and Ted Jr. Ann attended St. Patrick's School and was a member of the last graduating class of Aquinas Academy. She got her RN degree at Seattle University. Ann spent most of her nursing career at Swedish Hospital in Ballard as a home health nurse. Ann loved sitting with and hearing the interesting stories of her patients. She always made them feel comfortable and of value. She was a really good nurse. Ann met her future husband and best friend Rory Elliott at Ballard, where he recognized her possibilities as an outfielder for the coed slow pitch team. He would watch with pride and a twinkle in his eye as the opposing team was told to move up only to have her hit a long drive way over their heads and out of the park! Ann was never without her knitting bag that always had at least 10 different amazing projects going that she could choose from, and that she would pick up wherever she was, whether at a meeting, in a dark movie theater, or in front of the TV, all without missing a stitch or important word. She used the best quality yarns and loved creating her own intricate patterns and designs. Lucky were the many recipients of her expert handiwork! Ann and Rory always looked forward to their annual visit to Yellow Point Lodge on the beautiful granite shores of Vancouver Island where they would "Eat, Sleep and Read" to their hearts' content. It was the most magical place. She loved meeting old and new friends, using her wonderful gift for conversation. Ann was having the best time reconnecting with old school friends and relatives when she died! She left us all in a bit of a shock. She will be missed. Ann is survived by her husband Rory Elliott, brother Bill Boskovich, sisters-in-law Rondi Boskovich, Marci Elliott (Carol Harper), and April Batley (Jim), brother-in-law Rick Elliott, parents-in-law Bob and Alta Anderson, and many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Ted Boskovich, her brother Ted Jr., and father-in-law Marvin Elliott. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 21, 2013 at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1001 North J Street in Tacoma, WA. Following the services, a luncheon will be held in the church hall. Memorial donations may be to the charity of your choice. Please leave online condolences at www.gaffneycares.com. Rory, Jenny and I are deeply sorry for your loss. I know what it feels like to lose a loving spouse. I've been there also with 2 of my 3 children - in Sept 1990 and July 2000. We will miss interesting conversations with her and her interest in knitting. Annie always was willing to display her work.

Be strong and face a NEW world, there IS a life to be lived after losing someone you've loved for years.

Hope to see you @ Y. Point in Aug. 2013 as ususl. You have MANY good friends there which will be a great support for you.

Sincerely, Peter Boldt and Jenny Kincaid.

I knew Ann as my babysitter growing up in Old Town Tacoma along with knowing her brothers being my uncles friends. Old town was a small place we were all family. My memories were of her always taking us down to the water front and taking pictures. We loved it.. She was the best babysitter- she then surprised us with this gigantic collage of mounted pictures of us kids that she had taken down at the waterfront during her time with us. I recently reconnected with Ann after her moms passing on Facebook and was so looking forward to a not yet scheduled catch up phone call we were going to have. I loved seeing the pictures of old times as she posted them to facebook She is going to be so missed. Rory I know you do not know us but I bet you got to hear about us recently. I am Ted's niece.. I am so sorry for your loss.

I hesitated about adding anything, since the word came out so early on the East Coast. I'm not sure I remember Ann since high school, but I remember her well from St. Pat's. Best wishes from Atlanta.
