RICK BREHM Obituary

Rick Brehm Age 52, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning November 3, 2015. He is survived by his wife Sheri, step-son Nick, parents Wayne and Marlene Brehm, sister Laurie Burtis, brother James, and many nieces, nephews and extended family. He also leaves behind his hunting dog and companion Morpheus. Rick was born in Yakima Washington on April 12, 1963. He was raised in the Puyallup Washington area, graduating from Puyallup High School in 1981. Rick's career began with Canyon Redi-Mix before moving to Miles Sand and Gravel where he worked for the last 20 years. At Miles, Rick was a highly regarded and respected Redi-Mix Manager, overseeing multiple batch plants and employees in King, Pierce, Thurston, and Kitsap Counties. Rick is remembered for his many interests and abilities. As a young man he enjoyed camping and jeeping with his family. He raced Honda 3-wheelers, travelling to large events in Washington, Alaska and Texas, winning many trophies along the way. Rick had a special knack for fixing anything with a motor attached to it and developed a love of all things related to cars. Later on his interests took him to the water. His family spent many weekends at their home in Moses Lake boating, jet skiing, water skiing and enjoying time by the water. During the fall and winter months Rick hunted with friends and Morph, his trusty hunting dog. Rick's travelled to the waters of Cabo San Lucas, a favorite place of his and Sheri's. Rick was a lover of all things Nascar. He closely followed the racing season, going to Las Vegas for races and yes, occasionally betting on his favorite drivers. He is fondly remembered as a skilled skier, master lawn mower, BBQ grill master and beermeister. More than anything, Rick was kind and generous with his time and talents as a son, friend, neighbor and colleague. In honor of Rick, a special husband, son and friend to many, a celebration of life in his honor is being planned. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rick's name to Seattle Cancer Care Alliance Donations, P.O. Box 19023, Seattle, WA 98109 or ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer, 515 King Street, Suite 420, Alexandria, VA 22314. Condolences can be made on the legacy.com online guestbook. As Rick was fond of saying "Thanks for letting me see you" and "I'm good."

For some reason I woke this morning thinking about Rick and greatly missing his friendship. It's been 8 years and I still regret letting our communication and friendship wither as we got older. We were best friends growing up and I have a million memories of you and your family and things we did together. I know you are resting in peace, my friend, and I hope there's a big lake somewhere you're at, and a 70's Chevy pickup just waiting to be restored. I love you, buddy.

Dear Sheri, I'm so sorry for your sad loss. I only met Rick a couple of times but the love you two shared was almost palpable, and for that you were so fortunate. I pray that God will grant you the strength needed to get through this time in your life. Be with friends and family, share the stories and the love. My most sincere condolences. Berta

At Waller Road Elementary School "Ricky" was probably the sweetest guy of all of them. Many meetings along Vickery and riding bikes - although I remember a really steep driveway :). So sad for you all his beloved family and may God bless you now in this horribly hard time. I hope you have the same faith I do and KNOW that he is with God - and you WILL see him again.
