Einan's Funeral Home
Allen Hess (78) died 10 May 2013 in Richland, WA. He was born 18 March 1935 in Bismarck, ND and was the son of Raymond J. Hess and Elfreida D. Gussner.
He graduated from Helena High School in Helena, MT in 1953 and Montana State College in Bozeman, MT in 1957 with a degree in Nuclear Engineering. In 1960 he finished his Masters Degree of Science and Physics. He worked at Argonne National Laboratory in Idaho Falls, then General Atomic in San Diego and retired from Westinghouse in Richland in 1996.
Allen had a wonderful sense of humor and was always ready to cheer and lift the spirits of those who surrounded him. He loved to hike, camp and travel.
He was married in 1968 in Idaho Falls, ID to Barbara Atherton, who survives him. His brother, Donald Hess, and his twin sister, Arlene Hess, as well as his parents preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Hess, and two grandchildren of Austin TX, and siblings Ione Olson and Bernice Langsford of Reno, NV and Paulette Brown of Helena, MT and numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed!
Visitation will be held at Einan's Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 from 8:00 am-10:00 am with the funeral service to follow at 10:00 am. A graveside service will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
