Eileen Brandsen Obituary

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed suddenly and unexpectedly in her sleep on July 15, 2006.

Our loss is immeasurable. She was the center of our family and of our hearts.

Eileen was born in Sandpoint, Idaho, on October 8, 1946.

After graduating from high school, she moved with her family to Coeur d' Alene, where she married her first husband and had her first child, Pam (Miller) Morgan.

After a move to Moscow, Idaho, her son, Jon Miller, was born. Both children now reside in Kent, WA.

She was an involved, caring and fun mother, always showing us we were special and that our futures were boundless.

Life then brought Eileen to Kennewick, where she met and married Dave Brandsen, her loving companion for 20 years. Eileen and Dave moved to Maui, which is where we will forever picture her in our minds - on the beach, watching the whales and sunsets, perpetually tanned, and always with a smile on her face.

After the birth of her grandchildren, Keanan, Cole and Trey Morgan, and Madison and Tayler Miller, all of Kent, Eileen and Dave moved back to the Northwest to be closer and become more involved in the lives of their grandchildren.

The role of Grandma was an activity she entered into eagerly and happily. She took tremendous pride and joy in her grandchildren, and planned a special outing for them every summer. Her last granddaughter, Kailee Irwin, daughter of Brook Brandsen Irwin, of Richland arrived just this year.

Eileen and Dave had many hobbies a beautiful yard, Nascar, boating, motorcycling and the Mariners, but family always came first. She is survived by her husband, children and grandchildren, her mother, Mildred Solomon, her brothers, Gary Solomon and Jim Solomon, and sisters, Sue Flammia, Anne Solomon, Lori Solomon, and Julie Smith.

She is preceded in death by her father, John Solomon.

Eileen, Mom, Grandma we love you with all our hearts. Thank you for your deep and unending support and faith in us.

A memorial service will be held at English Funeral Home in Coeur d' Alene, on Friday, July 21 at 1 p.m.

We will hold a second service in Kent at Marlatt Funeral Home, but have not determined a date yet.

19 years later just seeing this after having lost touch. Eileen and my mom (passed away 12/27/17) were friends in Moscow. Perhaps you are again reunited. RIP

We met Eileen in Moscow, Idaho. There was a lot of good memories made through the years that we lived there. She then moved to the Tri-Cities, which is where we live, and we continued making memorable memories at that time. We met her new husband right before they moved to Hawaii, but unfortunately lost contact with her after that. Our condolences go with her family throughout their sad days.

Dear Dave,

Our thoughts are with you and the family and all who knew and loved Eileen. We cannot physically be with you at her memorial service but know that while our tears flow with yours, we also smile at the happy memories. Take care of yourself.
