KEVIN J. NAYLOR Richland, Washington Kevin John Naylor, age 59, formally of Waterbury and Stratford, CT, died unexpectedly November 19th. Kevin was born September 18, 1957 in Stratford CT, son William and the late Kathleen (Shaw) Naylor. Even though he loved working in the IT field his entire adult life, he most recently had been volunteering at The Chaplaincy in Washington where he'd resided the past 9 years. This part of his life was very fulfilling and he was extremely happy to help others in need. He was a greeter in the Hospice House and helped direct families when they came to the facility. He was also a comfort volunteer, giving support to families as it related to their circumstances. Kevin also attended the Richland Nazarene Church and was very active there working the sound booth for the Aldersgate Worship Service. He also enjoyed sitting around after the services with other parishioners to fellowship and drink coffee. His dream had been to enlarge the foyer with more chairs so more people could sit and fellowship after church. He was an avid baseball fan always awaiting another season of Yankee baseball. And even though he could only watch the Mariners in Washington, the Bronx Bombers were in his blood. As a young boy he met and had a baseball signed by the likes of "The Chairman of The Board"- Whitey Ford and Joe Pepitone this being his prized possession. But for all who knew Kevin his greatest passion was his music. This was always a starting point for him to have conversations wherever he might be with whomever would listen. He never tired of the topic or listening to new music. He kept an extensive album collection, which traveled with him no matter where in the country he lived. Kevin was predeceased by his mother Kathleen (Shaw) Naylor. He leaves behind his immediate family; his father William Naylor and his wife Sylvia of Beacon Falls, CT; a brother Brian Naylor and his wife Elizabeth of Waterbury, CT; his nephews LTjg Steven Naylor, USCG of Pearl Harbor, HI and PFC Alan Naylor, USA of FT. Sill, OK; and a sister Susan (Naylor) Morgan of Dorchester, MA. A memorial service will take place 2PM on December 10th at the Richland Nazarene Church, 2500 Jericho Rd., Richland, WA. 99352 Many thanks to Kevin's church family for all of their love, support and keeping him on his path home.
