ROBERT IRWIN Robert Irwin died the way he lived, fighting the odds and surrounded by loved ones. Robert "Bob" Irwin, 80, of Kennewick, formerly of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on July 29th, 2017, surrounded by loving family at Chaplaincy Hospice House from complications following a cardiac event suffered at home. A Celebration of Life will be held at Tanoan Country Club in Albuquerque, NM, on Sunday, September 17th at 2:00pm. Bob was born in 1936 to Clarence Irwin and Clara Mae Adams in Roswell, New Mexico. Bob was the third of five Irwin children, growing up in Roswell, playing with the many kids in their East Side neighborhood. The three older boys started their professional lives at Furr's Supermarkets during the '50s and '60s, where they learned the grocery business and developed their incredible work ethic. After many years with Furr's, Robert eventually joined S.C. Johnson Wax in 1966 and was a successful Regional Sales Manager for nearly 30 years before taking early retirement. Bob loved golf, playing bridge, cruising, and doting on his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his devoted wife Katherine Lee of Kennewick, son Robert Mathew, his wife Emily and their two children Samantha and Nicholas all of Kennewick; daughter Jessica Ivy, her husband Clint, both of San Diego, CA, and their son, Michal, of Plano, TX; and brothers Clarence "Junior" and Pat Irwin, of Lubbock, TX; Don and Ida Irwin, of Wichita Falls, TX; Judy Irwin of San Angelo, TX; Chuck and Lucy Holloway, and Wes and Martha Holloway, of Roswell, NM; and many cousins, nephews and nieces. Bob is preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Clara Mae Irwin, brother "Bill" Irwin, sister Lilith Cotta, and Kathy's parents, Chalmer Jr and Katie Holloway, who were honored to call him son.
