Mary K. Valenti

1941 - 2018

WATERVLIET - Mary K. Valenti, 76, died peacefully, March 5, 2018 at her Carondelet Drive residence following a short illness.Born in Cornwall, October 4, 1941, Mary is the daughter of the late Francis J. Kelley and Maude (Joyce) Fonda and the wife of Robert Bowler of Gloversville who survives. Mary was a waitress for many years at several area restaurants and in the 1970's was the owner of the former Home Stretch Restaurant in Troy. Most recently she was employed as a cashier at the Brunswick Walmart until retiring in 2012. She enjoyed playing the slots at casinos, especially in Atlantic City, playing her daily numbers and spending summer at the Saratoga Race Course.She is survived by her children, Freddie-Ann and Ray Vogel of Pittstown, Jo-Ann and Daniel Requate of Valley Falls, Kathleen Valenti of MA, James M. and Madonna Valenti of Mansfield, TX, John F. Angus of Troy, and Lorie Filuta of NC, three sisters and a brother, Kathleen Haralamboupolis, Joyce Brickhouse, Fred Fonda and Ann Winnicki, 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother, John M. Keeley, a sister, Colleen Duesler and a grandson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 10, at 1:15 P.M. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc, 2237 NY Route 7,located in Raymertown. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will be private.
