Johanna Malinowski Obituary
She was born in Allentown, PA to the late John and Marie Sutjak, and has been a Trumbull resident for 45 years
She received an AA from Gwynedd-Mercy College, 1960, a BS from Sacred Heart University, 1979, and her JD Law from the University of Bridgeport in 1982
Johanna was a very active member of the community, recently served as treasurer of the American Association of University Women (AAUW), and previously served as AAUW Branch President as well as Treasurer for The League of Women Voters She also was a Chairman of the Town of Trumbull School Code Violations Compliance Committee She was a member of the Trumbull Vocational Agricultural Building Committee She was also a member of the CT and Greater Bridgeport Bar Associations
Johanna was passionate advocate for her clients and continued to work from her Smilow bed She enjoyed teaching first communion classes in St Catherine of Siena Parish for many years and then moved on to teach paralegal classes at Sacred Heart University She cherished family reunions in PA and her travels included Slovakia, Russia, Rome and the Holy Land
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Stanley W Malinowski
She is survived by her three children Stan Malinowski his wife Regina of Guilford, Bob Malinowski of Shelton, Robin Dougherty, her husband Kevin of Trumbull; her sister Bernadine Schumaker and husband Donald of Allentown, PA, her sister Marion O'Neil and husband Dennis of Bethlehem, PA; her brother John Sutjak and wife Becky of Houston, TX; her brother and sister-in-law Frank and Eugenie Malinowski of Guilford; five loving grandchildren Derek, Cory and Luke Malinowski, Meghan and Katy Dougherty, and a host of nieces and nephews
Friends and family are invited to attend her funeral services on Monday at 10:00 am directly at St Catherine of Siena Church 190 Shelton Rd Trumbull Interment in Nichols Village Friends may call on Sunday from 1-5 pm at the Cyril F Mullins Funeral Home 399 White Plains Rd Trumbull

Oh, my dear friend, how I miss you! We always had such fun traveling, especially the time we went to Memphis and Nashville...or the time we went to Howe Caverns and after we got done you said " You know, I have been here before!"....this after she asked if we could go there because she wanted to see the caverns....she had the best sense of direction of anyone I ever knew. I don't have a "traveling companion" any longer, you were so special and we just had the best laughs. Until we meet again, I remain, loving you my friend.

Not a week goes by, even after all these years, that I don't think of Johanna. She was such a great friend and the best "travel partner" ever. I hope that she left this world knowing how many lives she affected and how many people loved her. RIP my friend.

Johanna i can´t believe you are gone 8 years. I miss you more today than yesterday. You were one of my cherished friends. You were always there for me. You had one of the biggest heart and always there if I needed you. We have some great memories our cruise with your family and mine one of are best times. Johanna was a very special lady, not only a great and compassionate Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt, Daughter, Daughter-in-Law, Attorney, but the best friend a gal could have. Not just to me, but to all that she embraced. Johanna was fun, always ready to pack her bags and be off to see the world, a devout Christian and someone who left the world a better place. I miss her. May she be resting in Peace with the Lord.

Your mother handled my sister's estate, with compassion and infinite patience. She put in far more hours for my sister,Cecelia and I then she could ever have gotten paid for, with tenderness and humor. We were thankful for her demeaning and her thoughtful ways.

Johanna was my dear friend and I shall miss her each day. We had so many laughs on our road trips. She was funny, kind, generous, a wonderful Mom and a dedicated Attorney. She is my loss, a loss of our Breakfast Club Friends, a loss to her children and grandchildren and a huge loss to the Town of Trumbull. Rest in the Lord's care, my friend, you deserve it.

my heart goes out to Johanna's family. She helped my parents take care of their legal affairs, and also some family and friends. She had such a loving and sweet way about her, and did her best to help others. I know God has a new Angel, and that she is smiling down on those she loves. How wonderful to have had her in your life, at whatever point..

I am so glad I was able to visit with her a few weeks ago at home. I will miss her so very much. We became so close after the loss of Stan in Dec. and my Steve in Jan. She was one wonderful person.
