Our beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother Jewell Pearl Kramer was born November 19th 1926 to Harry and Lillian Lamon in Seattle, WA. At age twelve Jewell's mother remarried to Jim Palmer and they moved to Melba to the family farm. She graduated from Melba High School in 1944. After graduation Jewell moved in with her grandparents in Seattle and attended the University of Washington where she studied Library Science.
While in Seattle she met a sailor, Vernon (Buck) Kramer, on Christmas Eve of 1944 at a dance. It was love at first sight and they were married at Grace Episcopal Church in Nampa, ID on January 28th, 1947. They made their home on the family farm in Melba where they raised their two children Cathie and Kelly.
Jewell was very active in the Melba community. She was a member of the Walter's Butte Grange, Legion Auxiliary, served as a 4-H leader, den mother of the Cub Scouts, and leader of the Auxiliary's Junior Girls program. Jewell was also very active within the Grace Episcopal Church. Jewell and Buck spent several years volunteering at the Veteran's Hospital in Boise.
Jewell was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Lillian Palmer and her sister, Faith Jensen. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Vernon "Buck" Kramer, her daughter Cathie Kramer of Houston, Texas and her son, Kelly and his wife Vicky Kramer of Melba. Also six Grandchildren, Jason, Jeremy and Josh (Courtney) Carter of Texas and Amanda, (Cody) Brizendine, Ramie (Jon) Post, and Andriana (Jason) Oakes, all of the Melba and Nampa area, and 15 great grandchildren.
Jewell was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her family camping and fishing and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Melba Quick Response Unit, Melba, ID 83641 or the Melba Senior Center, Melba, ID 83641.
The family expresses sincere appreciation to Dr. Robert Duerr and staff for their genuine love and care during Jewell's illness and also Heart N' Home Hospice, especially Linda Clark.

Dear Kramer Family.
We are so sorry for your loss.
"Gramma Jewell" was such a sweet and loving lady. She and Buck took us in like we were family and always made us and our boys feel so at home. She will always have a very special place in our hearts, and our stomachs. She was an amazing hostess and cook. We'll remember the July 4th parties forever.
Please accept our most sincere condolences and prayers while you grieve and celebrate such a wonderful lady. We love and miss you all.

Cathie, Kelly, Buck and Family. I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mother & wife. I, too, feel like I have lost my 2nd mother! I will not be able to come to the services, but will be with your family in spirit. I can hear Jewell telling me that it is OK, that she knows that I care. Heavon is richly blessed with the addition of Jewell.
