Karl Geiger Obituary

Karl Geiger
1952 - 2025
Feeding Hills
We are saddened to announce the passing of Karl Geiger, a man defined not only by his love for life but also for the joy and laughter he brought into the lives of those around him. Born on October 15, 1952, in Springfield, MA, Karl was a passionate and spirited individual who never shied away from an adventure or a chance to make someone smile. His jovial nature and warm heart made him a magnetic presence, transforming every gathering into a celebration of life itself.
Before Karl started his own business as a draft beer system service provider, he enjoyed working at Hoods and Sweet Life as a truck driver and advanced his career as a road supervisor. But his true passion always lay beyond the confines of his professional life. A lover of the outdoors, Karl was often found hunting and fishing in Vermont and New York, his spirit soaring with the freedom that nature provided. His love for motor sports found expression in his fondness for NASCAR and dirt racing, a passion he often shared with his beloved wife, Maryann, at the races in Oswego, NY. Karl's enthusiasm extended to football, and his love for boating on the Connecticut River, where he spent countless hours fishing. He was also a member of the Springfield Yacht and Canoe Club in Agawam, the Moose Lodge, and in his younger days played the trumpet in the St. George Olympians Drum and Bugle Corps.
Karl leaves behind a legacy of love and a large extended family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by the love of his life his wife, Maryann (Miranda), his sister Linda Geiger, sister-in-laws Tami Miranda and Rosemarie Belisle and her husband Greg and a brother-in-law Kevin Miranda, his aunts Joyce Geiger and Judi Hanley, his nieces and nephews Mikayla Casey and her husband Brandon, Cayden Herrick, Brinley Herrick and Delilah Casey, and many cousins and friends. Karl is predeceased by his parents Harry and Claire Geiger, his brother Eric Geiger, and niece Angelina Herrick.
Donations in Karl's honor can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Family and friends are invited to gather for calling hours on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Agawam Funeral Home, located at 184 Main Street, Agawam, Massachusetts. Family and friends will gather at the Agawam Funeral Home on Wednesday February 5, 2024, at 9:45 AM to travel in procession to Sacred Heart Parish for a Liturgy of Christian Burial. A committal service will follow at St. Thomas The Apostle Cemetery, located at 420 Kings Highway, West Springfield, Massachusetts.

I had lost track of Karl for decades when I finally ran into him at a grocery store in Agawam. He was such a lovely man who never seemed unhappy even when things might not have gone his way. But whenever he was around other people, especially those of us in the St George Olympian drum and bugle corps who hung out with him, Karl made everyone smile and laugh like it was just another great day to be alive. I will miss him a great deal and wish his whole family nothing but the best. We were all very lucky to know such a special person. With deepest condolences and much affection. -Stamos
