Lynn Kathleen Bowen

Lynn Bowen Obituary

Lynn Kathleen Bowen Adored and forever loved sister, mother, grandmother (Nana) and friend, Lynn Kathleen Bowen, humorously known as Dadoris Delfinger, passed away unexpectedly on May 2, 2007 at the age of 60. She was born May 19, 1946 in Ft. Wayne, Indiana to her father and mother Roy and Eleanor Bowen. As she has now passed on, she is left watching over from above her loving sisters, Gayle and Colleen; brother, Roy; daughters, Deidra and Beth; son, Michael; six ever so loved grandchildren, Caitlin, Jordan, Drake, Gabby, Aubrea, Caden and a world of friends. Kathy was the most loving and compassionate person in the world. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do to help out her family or friends. She was the kind of person you loved to be around, one who would brighten up the room with her energetic, entertaining and warmhearted attitude. She was the best mother and grandmother any child could ever ask for. She was a mother to all with her arms and heart open to everyone. She gave life everything and gave everything to life and will forever be missed and forever remembered. Memory mass will be held Monday, May 7th at St. Francis De Sales at 5:00 p.m. Viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. and Memorial services will be held 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 8th at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY with interment to follow immediately after. Lynn was a very sweet and gracious lady. She always had a smile and big hello when you saw her in the hallway at work. My deepest sympathy to the family.

I know how close knit Kathleen's family is(especially between Gayle and Colleen), so I know how tremendously Kathleen was and is loved. I already miss her hearty laugh. I wish I had one last time to tell her how much I appreciate her kindness to me, her friendship, and those monthly get togethers that she inspired. So I say it now as best I can, to her family. Thank you for letting me know Kathleen and sharing your lives with me!

I just found out about Lynn’s passing yesterday and was so very shocked, saddened and heartsick. I’ve considered Lynn to be one of my dearest and longest friendships for more then 25 years. We shared so much of our lives for 10 years, then went our separate ways for a few years, then reconnected more then 10 years ago. These last few years we’ve only stayed in touch through e-mails and phone calls. I was hoping to move back to Arizona next year when I retire; the last time we talked we discussed retiring in ’08.

I’m so filled with empathy and sadness for Lynn’s children, grandchildren, siblings and the rest of her family there are no words to express the heaviness in my heart. Memories of time we spent together, that last trip to Rocky Point in Suzanne’s van, we had such good time, going to the movies, getting together for cards, and just talking and laughing, and boy could she could laugh with you, at you and at herself, I’ll cherish these memories the rest of my life.

Rest in peace my friend, I miss you.

Lynn was so special to us, so much more than just a co-worker, but a real true friend.

Did you know she was the one that inspired a group of us to have our monthly "Girls' Night Out?" She felt it was so important that us ladies have time to relax and enjoy, and boy--did we!!! We got together in each other's homes, the movies...and the casino...and just laughed! I used to call them the "Bowen Triplets" as it was such a hoot to hear the stories of the Bowen girls adventures... Well that is what life is all about, finding those precious times to laugh and enjoy. Lynn gave us that gift. She opened her heart, shared her love, and her family and brought us all happiness.

You should also know how skilled she was at her job. She was a true advocate for veterans and their families. I know that each family she spoke to and educated about VA services, she impressed them with her empathy and professionalism. She helped shaped our VA Nursing Home as one of the best in the country. She will be missed.

And, oh, that laugh! I can hear it now...I miss her so much but know she is at peace. The angels are now enjoying that laugh!!!

I worked closely with Lynn in the early 90's and have such fond memories of that time. I was shocked and sadden to hear of her death. She was a wonderful co-worker and was very efficient and competent in her work. She was a delight to talk to and had a great sense of humor. She loved her family and friends dearly. My heart goes out to her family, friends, and co-workers who will miss her so much.
