Valerie Michele McGregor Zawada Obituary

Valerie and Samuel Valerie and Sam on their way to get married took a detour to meet their best friend and savior. They were driving together on Thursday, June 29, 2006 when the truck swerved off the road in New Mexico. Valerie Michele McGregor, 21, born December 12, 1984, was a Mountain View graduate. She leaves behind her twin sister, Emily; older sister, Wendy; father, Lyle (KK) and other loving family and friends. She was an inspiration to all and had such love in her heart. She truly found her soul mate - Samuel Zawada - and may they rejoice in Heaven. "I'm exactly where I want to be." - Val Samuel Hartwell Zawada, 23, also a graduate of Mountain View High School, received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado at Denver in May. He was born on May 10, 1983. He leaves behind his parents, Bob and Ann; a sister, Sarah; brother-in-law and niece, Colin and Bronwyn Oetken and many family members that he loved dearly. Sammy Z. will be missed for his humor, music, and love of sports. Now he can spend eternity with the person he was meant to be with. Come celebrate their lives at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel, 8090 N. Northern Avenue, July 6th from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. or Foothills Community Church, 3301 W. Overton Rd., on Friday, at 10:30 a.m. for the funeral services.

Dear Ann and Bob,

I just found out last night about Sam, and am sitting here feeling just horrible about it. I just can't wrap my mind around it! Words can hardly express the sadness that I feel for you. We know that we'll all see Sam again some day, but it must be so hard to accept and cope with at this time. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers and that I hope you will draw closer to each other and to God through this.

Much love,

Pam Todd

To Sam and Valerie's family,

Although I didn't know Sam too well, and didn't know Valerie, my heart goes out to you all. I was a student of Mrs Zawada at Pusch Ridge, and went to school with Sam, who was a few years younger. May God bless you all.

Bob and Ann:

In your time of sorrow I'd like to share with you some memories of Sam. As a Little Leaguer Sam was always eager to play and had a smile on his face. He was one of those kids that just made the game more fun. As a basketball player he made some 3 point shots that were incredible and loved the game. Sam was one of those great kids to have around and gave 100% all the time.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you and Valerie's families.

I know there are really no words that could ease your pain at this time... I just wanted to let you know that I care. My thoughts, prayers and best wishes are with you all.
