Dear Ann and Bob,
I just found out last night about Sam, and am sitting here feeling just horrible about it. I just can't wrap my mind around it! Words can hardly express the sadness that I feel for you. We know that we'll all see Sam again some day, but it must be so hard to accept and cope with at this time. Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers and that I hope you will draw closer to each other and to God through this.

I had the wonderful pleasure to have both of the Zawada children work directly for me and it was blessing to me. I did not meet Valerie but I knew all about her and I am glad she made Sam happy. Thank you both families for your wonderful children.

Mrs.Zawada was my 7th grade science teacher at Tortolita Middle school. She put passion into what she loved and I'm sure her son and future daughter-in-law were the same way. My deepest sympathy goes out to both families.

Although I didn't know Sam too well, and didn't know Valerie, my heart goes out to you all. I was a student of Mrs Zawada at Pusch Ridge, and went to school with Sam, who was a few years younger. May God bless you all.

Bob and Ann:
In your time of sorrow I'd like to share with you some memories of Sam. As a Little Leaguer Sam was always eager to play and had a smile on his face. He was one of those kids that just made the game more fun. As a basketball player he made some 3 point shots that were incredible and loved the game. Sam was one of those great kids to have around and gave 100% all the time.

I grew up in the same neighborhood as Sam and was in Drama with him, though I graduated a few years earlier. He was a good friend who always made me laugh. I'm so sorry for this immense loss.
