Dear McDonnell Family,
I am so sorry for the loss of one of my favorite people. As a youngster, I used to spend many days and nights at your house and got to know your dad very well. As it continued into our teens, then early 20's we still got many opportunities to play golf and see him at the house or Lehigh. He was a fantastic friend to my dad and he will really be missed. I thought the world of him, had much respect for him and always enjoyed being around him. Our family sends our deepest sympathy to your family.

I knew Jim best through one of his beautiful daughter's Sandy. She embodies many of the wonderful traits which I just read that her father shared. God bless his soul and the hearts of his many loved ones. With sympathy and love during this sad time, xo Ann

Such a wonderful guy, with so many friends and a wonderful family ! I remember he packed sodas & Gatorade for our golf group when we went to Wedgwood. A small thing, but so kind ! He will be greatly missed.

Dear McDonnell Clan-Please accept my deep, heartfelt sympathy on your very great loss. Jim has my enduring gratitude for launching a completely new career. One night at Doe Mountain he made a comment that he was looking for a female ex-teacher when Jane Styers suggested one who was still teaching. Me...Jim was my State Farm Manager. He was a great coach and he knew how to run interference to "not sweat the small stuff!" A good life time philosophy.
He will be greatly missed. Again my deepest sympathy.

I was very sorry to learn of Jim's passing. He was a great guy and I always said he was the grease that kept the gears of Doe Mountain Ski Patrol operating smoothly for many years. I learned so much about working with people from Jim. He always treated everyone with great respect and could get so much done while still being pleasant. He will be missed by many. My condolences to all.

Bunny and Family,
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim just beamed with great pride when he mentioned his grandchildren, his children, but especially you Bunny. He will be missed by so many friends and he holds a special spot in our memory of his years as a member at Lehigh.
