Jane Walter Obituary
May 16, 1926 - August 8, 2023
Jane Catlin Walter was born on May 16, 1926, in Atoka, Oklahoma, to Charles William Catlin and Mary Emma Binford Catlin. Jane passed away on August, 8, 2023, at the age of 97.
She was raised in Tulsa and graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1948 with a degree in History. Jane was proud to be a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority at OU.
Jane met Peter Charles Walter at the University of Oklahoma and in 1949 they married in Tulsa. They had celebrated 53 years of marriage when Pete passed away in 2003. She and Pete were lifelong supporters of the University of Oklahoma. Jane was a member of All Souls Unitarian Church.
Jane lived a full life and loved traveling, savoring sweets, shopping, listening to music, dancing, playing bridge, chatting with animals of any kind. Most of all she truly enjoyed being with people, especially her numerous dear friends and family. She had a welcoming smile and warm light in her eyes for everyone.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; and her loving sister, Emily Catlin Levorsen. Jane is survived by her children, Elaine, Peter, Jeanne and Charles. She is also survived by cousins, John S. Catlin of Norman, OK and James Renfrow of Pasadena, CA. Her nieces and nephews were dear to her. Nieces and nephews are Mark (Laura) Levorsen, Anne (Ken) Hammer, Marellie Robinson, Marcia (Doug) Givens, Jack (Stephanie) Allen, Christy (Mike) Jeffries, Sam (Dori) Allen, Nancy Allen, Suzanne (Robert) Lamkin and Alene Langsdorf (deceased).
Donations in memory of Jane can be made to Wheels on Meals; Iron Gate; Food Bank of Northeastern Oklahoma; Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA); Tulsa SPCA; or the charity of your choice.
A special and heartfelt thank you to Montereau Nursing staff and caregivers as well as Seasons Hospice.
A memorial service to be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 4, at All Souls Unitarian Church. Reception to follow.

Jane was one special lady, she was so graceful, kind, generous, and humble. I enjoyed every minute with her for several years, especially all the QT runs for a hotdog with green relish!

through action - humility & deeds... Jane changed my own life - family, such a long endearing friendship, loving Paul - others... particularly the Bradley side - as well as many Morgan's.......
I also want to thank all 4 of her children for being extensions of myself. ----I am so fortunate that she touched so deeply.
