Michael Messina Obituary

MESSINA - Michael C, died July 3, 2008 in Tulsa. Born on March 21, 1919 in Marshalltown, Iowa, son of Fernando and Anna Messina. Graduated from St. Mary's high school 1938 and married Ida M. Quigley February 15, 1941 in Marshalltown. Michael served in the Army Air Corps in World War II as a Radio Operator and mechanic 1942 with honorable discharge in 1945. He was employed in various phases of the trucking industry, retiring in 2002 from U.S. Truck Driving School. Survivors include; his wife Ida, sons Michael L. Windsor Heights, IA. and John C. (Bonnie) Quartzite, AZ. Daughter Rozann (Jim) Bolz- Tulsa. Grandchildren Michael J. Messina, Christine (David) Bowser-Des Moines, IA Melissa (Shannon) Kennedy-,Tulsa 7 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Caroline Messina and Sadie Bateson, brothers Pietro and Charles. Rosary 7: p.m. Sunday and Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10: a.m., both at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Pius X Endowment fund of St. John Hospice. All services entrusted to Nick Reynolds Funeral Service 838-1332.
