We knew David as an intelligent and very humorous conversationalist. He gave his good old Irish nature to any gathering and enhanced it a hundredfold. That grin will be missed.

I consider myself very fortunate for having known, and had such a special friendship with David. He was truly one of a kind. His wit, and humor, his very presence...I will miss him dearly.

My Uncle David was a member of "the Greatest Generation".

He fought Hitler and the Fascists.

I now am the proud owner of many of his books on American and world history.
