Jean Nicholas TRETTER

Age 76, of Saint Paul Passed away Friday, December 9, 2022 Jean was born September 9, 1946 in Little Falls, Minnesota. He served as a linguist in the United States Navy for several years. Later, Jean returned to Saint Paul where he played an active role in the Twin Cities GLBTQ community for decades. Of all his accomplishments, Jean was most proud of the Tretter Collection, one of the world's largest collections of GLBTQ materials. Jean is preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Murriel Tretter; his brothers Fay and Archie Tretter, and his sister Louise Harris. He is survived by his beloved cat Maximillian, his nieces and nephews, and dear friends and colleagues throughout the world. A memorial service will be held in June 2023 near the time of the Twin Cities Pride Festival. Interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
