Melvin Philip Baron

Baron, Melvin Philip "Phil" age 50 of Britt and formerly St. Paul, MN Died Wednesday, August 8, 2007, at the Virginia Regional Medical Center. He was born September 17, 1956, in Detroit, MI, the son of Hazen and Julie (Enders) Baron. Phil was raised in Morristown, NJ. Following his high school graduation, he went on to attain his Bachelor's Degree from Florida State University. He also attended the Culinary Institute of America in New York. On May 2, 2006, Phil was united in marriage to Catherine Lyons. He was an owner and chef of the Elroy Supper Club in Britt. Through the years, Phil collected many cookbooks, vinyl records, and other "stuff". He was also an avid outdoorsman, with an interest ranging from fishing in the Florida Keys to grouse hunting in Minnesota. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his dog, Scooter. He is survived by his loving wife: Cathy; mother: Julie Baron; step-children: Stephanie (Chopper), Alex (Jennifer), and Nicki; brother: Larry (Jolene) Baron; five step-grandchildren; several nephews and a niece; and a host of friends.
