Not sure what to say?

December 8, 2007

It has been a year of transitions for everyone. I think about Tom daily and remember his great love for his family and quick humor and gentle ways. Sometimes when I am out I see someone walking and I have to take a second look reminding me of him and remembering what a big heart he had. I am very grateful and honored to have so many wonderful memories. I miss him so much, but he is in my heart, and that is such a beautiful gift. Love and Blessings, Judy

I just heard of Tom's illness and now his passing away. Tom was such a wonderful person to work for. He was such an example of what a person should be. He was a very big influence on my life. It was honor to know and work for him. The world has lost a very special person. May God Bless you and your family during this sad time.

Tom was a very special man to me. He always had a smile and a good word to say. Even when things were going rough, Tom always cheered you up just by the way he would smile and pat you on the back. Joyce, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May God bless you you with His strength and presence in all the days ahead.

Tom is in a better place where he is not suffering. I speak for my mother and myself when I say we have also lost a family member with Tom's passing. Mom is so weak she is unable to speak much of the time, but with a nod. I have yet to tell her of Tom's passing. I know our two families have gone back to the late 40's at least. I know most of my family will not be able to attend the funeral. Two of us (Chuck and myself) are not able to drive right now due to surgery, and Ann living in Texas. We have you in our prayers during this time of mourning and grief. Our sympathy and condolences. Laura Ochs

Dear family,
Jamie and I are with you in spirit this sad day. We are both richer for having known Tom, and I believe the world is a better place because he has been here. Surely there is a joyful family reunion going on in Heaven now! And knowing Tom, he'll save us all seats at his table.
Love, Zo (Kunz) and Jamie Newell

What a sad day. Tom was a wonderful example for me on how to be kind, gracious and keep a sense of humor even in the face of difficulty. I wish that I would have had one more chance to say hello and goodbye to him. He is the perfect description of a gentleman.

To Tom's Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Tom's homegoing. I enjoyed skating with him at Blaine and hearing the stories about his younger days. I especially thought it was so great how he enjoyed the Scandinavian Christmas traditions with the family. Love and prayers to you all.

Tom Kunz was a joy to know! I had the privilege of working with him at Univac from 1973-1987. With a quiet wit, and a competent manner, Tom brightened that workplace. Peace to him and his family.

I travelled a lot for Univac to various exotic places. Tom always knew where and when I was going so he would find and coach me on what to do if I were to experience some trouble. He had a gentle dedication to his work and I always felt he had a personal resposibility for my welfare in the field. I also knew how he could play volley ball. Our team always managed to end up in the "B" league because if we ever made it to the "A" league we would have to play Tom's team. We didn't want to do that. If I ever had to profile a nice and compassionate person I would have to give a picture of Tom. It was my pleasure to have known him and worked with him.

We were genuinely saddened to hear of Tom’s death. He was such a blessing and a gift to all and will be dearly missed. Please know the gift of peace and the power of prayer accompany you. God's presence in the gifts of friendship, family, the church and, of course, faith hold you in these days.

We are so very sad for your loss of such a grand man. We loved seeing Tom walking Gus on Saturday mornings. He always made our day. Watching him usher in church was always a highlight. Tom sitting in the pew with Joyce, Jill, and her family brings sweet memories. His warm heart and gentle smile will be greatly missed. May God be close during these days. With love, Linda and Dale

I am praying for God's peace and comfort during this time. If I could have two earthly fathers in this life I would have my Dad and Tom. As a child Tom drew me out of my shy-self and I never felt uncomfortable around this "grown up person". As an adult he was always interested in what I was up to. I remember his sense of humor and his passion for ice skating. In the last few years we mostly talked during the hockey tournament. We missed a lot of good plays 'cause we were busy chatting. I know he is in good hands now but he will be truly missed here on earth.

To the Kunz family,
I met Tom in 1979 when I started Sperry Univac. I met him through my friend Margaret who was his adminstrator. I just want to say that Tom Kunz was one of the nicest people I have ever known. He was such a kind soul, caring and had a great sense of humor. He truely will be missed. I am sure everyone in heaven is rejoicing in his presence. May memories of him bring you peace.
God Bless,

Judy Kunz
